ANIMAL FAIR

A wonderfully engaging 50 minutes, featuring - of course - the musical adventures of our animal friends. The program has been designed for family audiences to share the experiences of singing traditional American songs.

Drawing from an extensive list of song collections such as Carl Sandburg’s “American Songbag”. Vance Randolph’s “Ozark Folk Songs” and the Lomaxes’ “Folk Songs of North America”, Suzanne and Jim entwine skillful instrumentation on the 5-string banjo, guitar, mandolin, flute, penny whistle, spoons and courtship dulcimer, with delightful harmonizations that encourage group participation.

All the classic animal tales are here - the ones that captivate young minds and teach simple lessons. Sing along with familiar story songs and marvel at the old time Limberjacks- wooden puppets that will dance their way into your hearts . Stir up your imagination when you journey with Suzanne and Jim to visit the Animal Fair.

For more information regarding school programs, artist residencies, library programs and other events dedicated to young audiences be sure to request the Suzanne and Jim educational proposal outline with behavioral objectives.
